Okay, officially, this is a tripod. I don’t know how often it will come in handy for that purpose, though, especially because it sits the camera at an angle. The only time that I can see it being used as a tripod is if you want to take one of those self-portraits or to take a photo of yourself and someone else and there’s no one available to hold the camera.

What this would be really useful for (at least for me) is as a wallet-sized iPhone stand. I’ve been known to watch TV shows, movies, podcasts, etc on my iPhone (especially on long trips) and this thing would be great to prop up your iPhone at the perfect viewing angle rather than holding it in your hand for the entire show.
